JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities

1. To identify, develop and implement strategic objectives and plans for the Circulation Department
2. To be responsible for ensuring that quality standars governing the efficient operation of the department and achievement of good customer service are developed, implemented and maintained
3. To be accountable for all activities related to the sale and distribution of all Jamaica Observer products.
4. To be responsible for the expansion of agent routes
5. To be accountable for the smooth running of warehouse operations
6. To be responsible for ensuring the training needs of all staff in the department are identified and addressed.
7. To be responsible for ensuring all reports and financial records are accurate and completed within the agreed time limits
8. To appraise all staff reporting to this position.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• BSc. Marketing Management/Business Administration OR BSc. in any other discipline plus Diploma in Marketing or Business Administration
• At least five years management experience, with two of those years at a senior level in a for profit organization
• Experience at a Senior or Middle Management level in Marketing and/or Sales

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

• Distribution systems and strategies
• Strategic planning
• Newspaper industry (desirable)
